Fantasy Role PlayingPrimary Sections: This portion of the site is dedicated to role playing games, specifically Quests of the Realm, the game I designed, but also with some things about on-line RP sim and role playing in general. The main focus is fantasy since that's my personal favorite genre, but don't let that fool you; QoTR is intended for any genre of RP. You can use the drop-down menus to the left to navigate the following sections. QoTR Customization: So I say that QoTR offers unlimited customization. At first glance, you might doubt that, as it's a reasonably broad-based system all told. The key to using Quests of the Realm is simulation. By combining the various options and using the ones that best suit your genre or character, you can have both descriptively and statistically different builds, but since they all use the same rules and creation process, none of them should blatantly overpower the others. Future Plans: As time goes on, expect the following sections to be added to this portion of the site: Quests of the Realm: Once I take a few additional steps to secure my copyright, I'll publish Quests of the Realm on the site. I'll also be getting some more information up in the near future. World of Aengard: Once I get more work done on it, information on the world of Aengard (and how to bring a QoTR game into it) will be posted here. Aengard is a good default game world for a fantasy QoTR game. It also happens to be the world in which my books are set. General RP: This section will contain articles about what RPGs are, how to play them, and so on. QoTR Optimization: Although designed for balance, the different character creation options in QoTR are intended to allow for specific character roles and styles. The balance isn't about making everyone good at everything; it's about making sure everyone always has something to add to the cause (and something highly useful to add, for that matter). This section will contain articles about designing your character to fill the role you want in the manner you desire. Sim RP: I spent quite a while at one point role playing in on-line chat rooms. If you have done the same, you probably know why I feel this section is necessary. I've come up with quite a few theories about making online role playing a more enjoyable experience for all involved. If it's one of your hobbies, you may want to check out some of these articles. RP Characters: As stated above, I used to do a lot of online RP in the AOL chats. Haven't been for a while. I've tried to get back into it with only limited and temporary success. However, if I do ever manage to do so, I'll add this section with my characters, maybe some char-based chat room links and descriptions, and other such information in case any other AOL RPers want to seek me out. |
